Rape via the internet

News of an important case from Sweden. A man has been convicted of raping children even though he never met them. All the abusive acts were carried out online. He is going to prison for 10 years. Apparently, none of the children involved lived in Sweden. It seems they were all from the USA, Canada and the UK.

I wonder if, on the same facts,  a similar conviction would be possible in other jurisdictions?
